The CJ4 is able to retrieve generic and global OBDII diagnostic data from all OBDII and EOBD compliant vehicles. This includes Modes 1 – 9 which are:
Mode #1 - Request for current powertrain diagnostic data including: engine parameters, MIL status and readiness codes
Mode #2 - Request for powertrain freeze frame data
Mode #3 - Request emission-related powertrain diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)
Mode #4 - Clear/Reset emission-related diagnostic information including MIL status, DTCs, freeze frame and readiness codes
Mode #5 - Request oxygen sensor monitor test results
Mode #6 - Request on-board monitoring test results for non-continuous monitor systems (i.e., catalyst, exhaust gas re-circulation (EGR), evaporative system, etc.)
Mode #7 - Request on-board monitoring test results for continuous monitor systems (i.e., pending codes)
Mode #8 - Request the operation of an on-board system, test, or component.

The Injector Tester allows the CJ4 scantool to detect faulty injectors. It triggers one injector at a time for balance testing, long cleaning cycles when used in conjunction with a flow bench and check injection patterns.
The injector tester module utilizes the expansion port of the CJ4.
Features and specifications:
- Draws current to activate injector from the vehicle battery.
FIXED INJECTION. Simulates 600, 1000,2000,3000, 4000, 6000, l 7000and 8000 RPMs for 30 Seconds.
- CLEANING CYCLES. 600 to 8000 RPMS for test cycles of 4 and 10 minutes.
- PROGRAMMED CYCLES. User programmable to simulate virtually all conditions in the vehicle. From 600 TO 7000 rpms in 100´s increments and 1 to 90 seconds (1 second increments).
- QUICK TEST. 1, 2, 25, 50 and 100 pulses to complete 500 ms Duty cycle.

The Secondary Ignition Tester allows the CJ4 oscilloscope function to measure the Kilovolts value of ignition systems with Distributorless system(DIS) or conventional ones.
The Secondary ignition tester 9257 obtains the signal using acapacitive clip and a conditioning circuit in order to deliver a readeable waveform to the CJ4 oscilloscope.
A bar graph, waveform and a KV average value is displayed.
Screenshots can be saved to be included in reports or sent by internet.
